back to normal life!
Today is the first day that Adrian's been back at work after being on vacation for a week and a half. It's been nice!!
Christmas was crazy, but fun. We almost had "the twelve days of Christmas"- we had so many different family get-togethers. Also, leading up to Christmas I had dress rehearsal followed by my actual performance in the musical comedy my church was doing, so that added some more busy-ness. We've (my mom and I) decided that we won't have everything in a *row* next year- we'll plan for some days off from Christmas celebrations in between. Oh, and the play went really well! It was so fun. I hope I get more opportunities to act/sing in the future.
During Adrian's vacation we also had some good family down-time- it was all after Christmas. We spent some days getting home projects done (Adrian's ripping out our carpet so we'll have hardwood floors- our room's almost done). We also had some time to do stuff like play in the backyard, which was really fun with all four of us being there. Elise practiced riding her bike while Christian rode his little winnie the pooh-mobile.
One of the highlights of our vacation was a day we spent up at snoqualmie pass. We went to the tubing hill. Elise and I had tubing tickets, and Adrian and Christian had viewing tickets. A & C were able to play with an extra tube while Elise and I went down the hill- Christian loved being pulled around on it. The hill has a rope tow, which Elise and I spent lots of time on (more time than going *down* hehehehe). I can't wait to try this again next year- I think Christian will be able to go down the hill (doubles probably) and Elise will have even more fun I think.
We spent New Year's Eve at my mom and Joel's house. They've decided that they'll go to the OR coast every other new year's, so that they can spend every other one with us. They couldn't stay away, though, and went down to the coast a few days prior to be back in time for us! We had lots of fun over at their house playing Apples to Apples and snacking lots. Luke was there, too. We let Elise stay up to watch the ball drop in New York (9pm), then she went to bed where Christian was already sleeping all sprawled out in his pack n play. We woke up the next morning to a nice breakfast, and Mom and I walked down to the Cove and back. Boy- I haven't worked out in a while. I felt that!
Now it's the January 2, 2008! First time I've written/typed 2008. Crazy. :) Time to get back on the diet... go back to the gym... etc etc..... my "resolution", though, is to be more consistent with my morning Bible reading. It was really nice to do that this morning. I read my One Year Bible entry, and used my Word for Today Bible to read Chuck Smith's commentary, too.
Now, to get caught up on my housework! :)

hard wood floors!?!?! oh no....think of the children! the children!
we were visiting some friends and they have two toddlers and the little one kept falling down and hitting his face on the hardwood floors and screaming in pain - this happened no less than 6 times in the 5 hours we were there. it really freaked me out. the three year old was really rough with the baby, too, pushing him down when he grabbed the toys. then there was all the climbing on the coffee table and turning off the tv repeatedly while we watched - it was traumatizing for me.
what i wanted to say, but somehow didn't, was that i'm glad elise isn't the roughhousing type that will bang lodie's head on the hardwoods. whew! and what i learned: carpeting is a good thing for the early stages of learning to walk.
You're so right!! That's actually why we waited this long- we wanted to make sure Christian was walking really well first. He's quite the coordinated little walker/runner/dancer now. :)
Oh, and it sounds to me like your friends need some serious help with discipline!
